A retired couple from Northland had an exciting moment last Wednesday as they watched the winning Lotto numbers line up on their ticket, making them $500,000 richer.
The couple prefers to remain anonymous but shared their surprise at winning. “We always hoped, but never expected to win," said the woman.
The pair are regular Lotto players and had purchased their winning ticket on MyLotto earlier in the day before watching the draw later that evening.
After the draw, the woman checked their numbers online and was thrilled to see them line up perfectly.
"I was sitting on the edge of my chair watching each of my numbers line up," she said. The couple is still in shock and couldn't believe their luck.
