A howard county woman wins $500,000 in cash 5 lottery game

A Howard County woman has won a $500,000 Cash 5 jackpot. The lucky winner, who chose to remain anonymous, matched all five numbers in the April 4 drawing.

The winning numbers were 8, 18, 20, 22, and 24. After taxes, the winner will receive a net prize of $353,000. This is the second largest Cash 5 jackpot won in the county this year.

The largest was $1 million, which was won in January. The winner said she plans to use the money to help her family and pay off some debts.

She said that she has been playing the lottery for many years and never thought she would win.

This is the fourth Cash 5 jackpot won in Maryland this year. The Maryland Lottery encourages players to play responsibly and to remember that only those 18 and older may purchase lottery tickets.
