A scratch off lottery player from Waterloo scoops a big jackpot recently

A Waterloo man won $50,000 from a $5 scratch-off lottery ticket. Austin Smith purchased the ticket at Metro Mart, 2332 Falls Ave., and claimed on Friday the fourth highest prize in the $5 LUCK scratch game at the Iowa lottery’s Cedar Rapids regional office.

LUCK is a $5 scratch game featuring eight prizes of $50,000. For more information about the game, and the number of prizes still available.

The winner told the lottery officials that he will be going to pay all his due bills and buy a brand new car after claiming the winning prize money.

The lottery officials said that the winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming the winning prize money.
