Two Iowa residents scoops a big jackpot recently in powerball lottery and mega millions lottery game

Lottery players won big this weekend on tickets purchased in Iowa. A $2 million Powerball ticket sold in Ottumwa tops the list of new winners, followed by a $1 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Davenport and a Super 7s Progressive ticket sold in Cascade that's worth nearly $400,000.

None of the prizes have been claimed as of Monday afternoon, according to the lottery's unclaimed prizes database. Prizes of more than $250,000 must be claimed at Iowa Lottery's headquarters, located at 13001 University Ave., in Clive.

Officials encourage big winners to make an appointment. Lottery officials say someone who bought a ticket in Ottumwa for the Powerball drawing on Saturday, June 24, came within one number of winning $424 million.

The ticket, purchased at Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh, 1027 N. Quincy Ave., matched the game's first five numbers (2, 38, 44, 50, 62) but missed the Powerball (19).
