Strathroy retiree won $100,000 in Lotto 6/49 draw by matching Encore numbers

Strathroy, Ont. resident says yes to Encore, winning $100,000

A lucky Strathroy retiree named James Campbell won a whopping sum of $100,000 by sating yes to Encore and matching the last six of seven number in exact order in Lotto 6/49 draw.

The winning ticket was sold at The Real Canadian Superstore on Victoria Street in Strathroy. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $1,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

“When I handed my ticket to the retailer, I thought I won $100 at first. It was the people around me that told me I won $100,000!” he told lottery officials. 

He plans to save and invest his $100,000 winnings.

Lotto 6/49 is one of three national lottery games in Canada. Winning numbers are drawn by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC) every Wednesday and Saturday, executed with a random number generator.
