Massachusetts woman is 1st to win $1M prize on new $50 scratch ticket

A lucky woman from Massachusetts named Christine Wilson won a whopping sum of $1 million playing The National Lottery's "Lifetime Millions” scratch ticket game.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Dubs’s Discount Liquors on Chauncy Street in Mansfield. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The winner recently claimed his winning amount from the lottery headquarters and took home a lump-sum payment of $650,000 after state taxes.

The National Lottery is the state-franchised national lottery established in 1994 in the United Kingdom. Prizes are paid as a lump sum (with the exception of the Set For Life which is paid over a set period) and are tax-free. Of all money spent on National Lottery games, around 53% goes to the prize fund and 25% to "good causes".
