Suitland resident's $5 turned into $58,000 after purchasing a lottery ticket

The Fate of the Maryland's Woman changed when she decided to buy a lottery ticket when she was shopping for grocery. 

She purchased the winning lottery ticket from Giant Food grocery store in District Heights on Feb. 23, it cane from a vending machine. 

When she saw her ticket she was in shock as it's her first time winning this big, but later on rushed her ticket to one of the grocery store clerks for them to check her prize. 

That's how her $5 investment in the vending machine lead her to $57,777 worth win. 

“I’ve been playing for years. I do it all. Scratch-offs, Powerball, Mega Millions,” the woman told lottery officials. “This is the biggest payout!”

The winner shared some of her plans, to pay her car loan, and to buy a new house.
