A fortunate scratch off lottery player from Cuyahoga falls scoops a big jackpot recently

One lucky man in Cuyahoga Falls has claimed a prize worth $50,000 from a winning scratch-off ticket in the Ohio Lottery’s $1 million Cashword game.

The winner identified only as Paul says he practically fell out of his seat after realizing he had won the money. “I grabbed my phone and scanned it and when I saw $50,000, I about passed out,” he says.

Paul bought his winning ticket at the Mini-Mart at 2810 Bailey Road in Cuyahoga Falls, according to a press release from the Ohio Lottery.

He had picked up the ticket on a Friday, but didn’t scratch it off until a couple days later when he returned home from a fishing charter. “I was in complete shock,” he says.

“Nothing has ever happened to me like this in my life.” Paul says he may use his winnings for a down payment on a house, while possibly putting some of the money in pension/mutual funds and treating himself to a trip.

After mandatory state and federal tax totaling 28 percent, the Ohio Lottery says Paul will receive approximately $36,000.
