An ex-footballer and Yorkshire builder who went viral after he cracked the £1m lottery jackpot has revealed he and his partner have quit their jobs to travel the world.

Terry Kennedy, 29 and from Barnsley, was a teammate of England star Harry Maguire at Sheffield United before being forced into early retirement due to a knee injury in 2016.

Luckily, thanks to the kindness of a shop assistant, he was called back in to pick it up. When he checked the numbers the next day, he could not believe he had matched five numbers plus the bonus ball.

Terry said: "Despite all the checks it isn’t until you hear on the phone that it is a £1million win that you really believe it.

The winning isn’t just about the money it is about buying you that all important time which when you are working you just do not have.
