A scratch off lottery player from S.C. wins a big jackpot recently

Sometimes winning a six-figure lottery ticket is about being at the right place at the right time, as a South Carolina man found out earlier this month, collecting $200,000 in a scratch-off game.

The Lowcountry man told South Carolina Education Lottery officials he was in line at the Happy Liquor Store, in North Charleston, S.C., when he noticed the person in front of him had played the $5 Double Sided Dollar Extra Play.

He said that was the game he always played, and it inspired him to purchase a ticket immediately after he did. He said he was stunned when he started scratching off the results.

"It was like an out-of-body experience," he told lottery officials. "It was crazy. I wouldn't have bought it if the customer in front of me hadn't." The big win could potentially be a life-change for the South Carolina player.
