A Massachusetts state lottery player wins $150,000 in crossword game

Someone in Massachusetts claimed a $500,000 grand prize on Thursday from a crossword-style lottery scratch ticket game.

The $500,000 prize was from “$500,000 Cashword Corners 2023.” It was the second grand prize claimed in the $5 game since its release on Jan. 30, 2023.

The winning scratch ticket was bought at a convenience store called Steve Corner, which is located in Malden.

Overall, at least 509 prizes worth $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Thursday, including 18 in Springfield, 16 in Worcester and 48 in Boston.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

So far, the largest lottery prize won in Massachusetts this year was worth $5.37 million. The prize was from a Megabucks drawing held on May 4.
