A fortunate resident from Bakersfield scoops a big jackpot in lotto lottery game

California Lottery officials said one lucky scratcher player won $1 million from a ticket sold in Bakersfield.

Officials said Christopher Powers bought an Xtreme Multiplier scratcher ticket from EZ Foodmart and won the $1 million.

Powers was the second player in Kern County to win big on the Xtreme Multiplier game. A player in Ridgecrest won big bucks on the $10 scratcher game, officials said last month.

The California Lottery announced six other winners across the state including a Bay Area player who won $10 million playing the California 220X game. The recent round of prizes totaled more than $28 million.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.
