A fortunate Fayette County guy scoops a big jackpot recently

A $1 million winning lottery ticket was sold at a Walmart store in Fayette County.

The Pennsylvania Lottery said a winning ticket in the Instant $1,000,000 Jackpot scratch-off game was sold at the store at 355 Walmart Drive, which is in South Union Township.

The game costs $20 and offers top prizes of $1 million. The store that sold the ticket will receive a $5,000 bonus.

In its announcement, the lottery said, "Scratch-offs are distributed at random, meaning the Pennsylvania Lottery and its retailers do not know where winning tickets will be sold.

The lottery learns where winning tickets are sold only after a prize has been claimed."

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.
