A fortunate N.J. grocery store's customer bags a big jackpot recently

The $1 million Powerball ticket bought in New Jersey for Monday’s lottery drawing was purchased at supermarket in Essex County.

The ShopRite on South Livingston Avenue in Livingston sold the lucky second-prize Powerball ticket, New Jersey lottery officials said Tuesday. The Powerball ticket matched five numbers but not the Powerball and was the only second-prize ticket sold in the country.

No tickets nationwide hit the $45 million jackpot, pushing the top prize for Wednesday’s drawing to $56 million with a cash option of $27 million. Monday’s winning numbers were: 30, 48, 53, 58 and 66.

The Powerball drawn was 9 with a Power Play of 2x. In addition, no one across the country won the secondary $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 30, 41, 42, 67 and 68.

The Double Play number drawn was 16. The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1.
