A scratch off lottery player from New Mexico scoops a big jackpot recently

If this new Texas Lottery winner was just passing through the Lone Star State, then it was a very lucky trip. A resident of New Mexico won $3 million off a scratch-off ticket purchased in West Texas not far from the Texas-New Mexico border, according to a news release from the Texas Lottery.

The lucky New Mexico resident purchased the Maximum Millions scratch-off ticket at an Exxon station located at 2595 U.S. 62 W. Seminole, Texas 79360.

That gas station is just around 200 feet from the New Mexico border, according to Google Maps. In fact, if you got into Street View from that gas station and travel west, you will see the "Welcome to New Mexico, Land of Enchantment" sign.

The winner chose to remain anonymous. The New Mexico winner is the second person to win four $3 million top prizes for the Maximum Millions game. The chances for winning any prize on that game are one in 3.93, according to the Texas Lottery website.
