Store Clerk Pleads Not Guilty to Allegedly Stealing Customer's $3 Million Winning Lottery Ticket

A store clerk at a now-closed convenience store in Lakeville, Massachusetts, has entered a plea of not guilty after being charged with stealing and attempting to cash a customer's winning lottery ticket worth $3 million.

Carly Nunes, 23, was arraigned in Brockton Superior Court on several charges, including larceny, attempted larceny, presentation of a false claim, and witness intimidation.

The incident unfolded when the customer purchased four lottery tickets along with a bag of barbeque potato chips, but unknowingly left the store without the winning ticket.

The clerk allegedly retained the ticket and later attempted to claim the prize.

This case serves as a reminder of the significance of trust and integrity in lottery ticket sales and the potential consequences of fraudulent activities.
