Bernardston Resident Hits Jackpot with $1 Million Mass Lottery Win

Vicki Sumner from Bernardston recently struck luck by winning a massive $1 million prize through the Massachusetts Lottery's Billion Dollar Extravaganza instant ticket game.

This particular lottery ticket marked the first $50 entry in the state. According to the Lottery, Vicki is the 10th winner to claim the top prize.

Her winning ticket was purchased at the Greenfield Lodge of Elks in Greenfield, and in recognition, the Lodge will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Lottery.

Opting for a lump sum, Sumner chose to receive her prize of $650,000 (pre-tax) on December 26. She shared plans to use a portion of her winnings to pay off her car loan and enjoy some leisurely activities.
