Suburban Residents Win $425,000 Jackpot in Illinois Lottery's Lucky Day Lotto

Two suburban residents are $425,000 richer after winning a lottery jackpot. One of the Lucky Day Lotto winning tickets was sold on New Year's Eve at Mr. Quik-Ezz, 980 S. Bartlett Road in Bartlett.

The other ticket was sold at a BP at 5601 Dempster Street in Morton Grove, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery.

The two lucky winners matched all five numbers in the Sunday evening drawing to score the $425,000 jackpot prizes. The winning numbers were: 5-12-15-22-28.

This is also a win for the retailers that sold the winning tickets, as they’ll both receive a one percent selling bonus of the prize amount, or $4,250 each, according to the news.

Overall, more than 31,000 winning tickets were purchased for the Sunday, December 31 evening drawing of Lucky Day Lotto, netting Illinois Lottery players over $931,000.

In 2023, there were over 12 million winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets sold, amounting to over $70 million in prizes for Illinois Lottery players.
