Wrong ticket brings $250K Powerball prize to South Carolina woman

A South Carolina woman asked for a Mega Millions ticket at a convenience store but was given a Powerball ticket instead. It turned out to be a lucrative mistake, as the Irmo resident won $250,000 in the draw.

“I thought, ‘This can’t be,’” the woman, who did not wish to be identified, told South Carolina Education Lottery officials in a statement. “I checked the date, the game and the winning numbers over and over.

It became even better after the woman’s winning ticket, bought at a Circle K, was a big winner. The ticket distributor will get $2000 for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket

The woman had decided to keep the ticket and forgot about it until her daughter texted her about a winning ticket sold in Irmo, WIS-TV reported. The woman said she would use her winnings to help charities she regularly supports, lottery officials said.
