Winning lottery ticket worth $500K sold at the Sand Lake Party Store in Hillsdale

A 74-year-old man from Michigan won a $500,000 lottery jackpot after reinvesting $40 in scratchcard winnings.

The man bought more tickets at the Sand Lake Party Store in Hillsdale before scratching the winner in his car.

He initially thought he had won $500, but upon closer inspection of his glasses, he realized he had won half a million dollars.

The man said he was grateful for the win and that the money would be used to pay bills and complete home improvement projects.

He had won $40 on some other tickets and decided to re-invest in some more at the Sand Lake Party Store in Hillsdale In a similar story, an Australian woman won a lottery jackpot of $530,000 (£538,000) after playing numbers that had appeared in her dream.

The woman from Altona, Victoria, said she always played those numbers and remembered them from a dream.
