Wakefield Lottery Player Scores $100K Prize in May Mass Cash Drawing

A lucky lottery player in Massachusetts is celebrating a big win after a $100,000 “Mass Cash” ticket was sold at Main ST Grille & Taphouse in Wakefield.

The winning ticket matched all five numbers drawn during the midday “Mass Cash” drawing on May 27. The lucky numbers were 1, 4, 5, 16, and 30.

It turned out to be a busy day for lottery winners across the state. According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, more than 514 prizes worth $600 or more were either won or claimed on Wednesday alone.

Here’s a quick look at where some of the bigger wins happened:

  • 44 winning prizes in Boston
  • 13 winning prizes in Worcester
  • 6 winning prizes in Springfield

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a daily list of winning tickets for prizes over $600, giving players a chance to see where the latest big wins are happening.

Meanwhile, the biggest lottery prize claimed in Massachusetts so far this year remains an eye-popping $25 million. That jackpot came from a “$25,000,000 Mega Money” scratch ticket sold at a Cumberland Farms gas station in Turners Falls, the largest village in Montague.

For one lucky player in Wakefield, though, a stop at a local grille and tap house just turned into a six-figure payday.
