Virginia man hits the lottery worth $1 million

Virginia man hits the lottery worth $1 million, the man first thought that he has only won $600 but soon released that it was $1 million. 

Jose Flores Velasquez of Annandale, Virginia, won $1 million playing the 20X the Money scratcher game last month, according to a recent press release from the Virginia Lottery. 

He bought the ticket at a Safeway supermarket while he was picking up a pack of sodas, the press release said.

Flores Velasquez chose to take the one-time cash option and took home the amount of  $759,878 before taxes. 

The retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the million dollar lottery ticket.
