Two Canadians Win Big in Lotto 6/49 Draw as Jackpot Hits $20 Million

Two Canadian lottery players are waking up to some seriously exciting news after the Lotto 6/49 draw on Wednesday, August 26.

While nobody hit the $18 million Gold Ball jackpot, one Saskatchewan ticket matched the winning White Ball numbers and scored a $1 million prize.

Another player is now $5 million richer after winning the Classic Draw. The winning numbers were 2, 14, 30, 33, 41 and 45, with 39 as the bonus number. The ticket was purchased in the Atlantic provinces.

Other big wins

  • Three tickets matched five numbers plus the bonus, splitting the second prize for $70,942.90 each. The tickets were sold in Quebec, the Atlantic provinces and Alberta.
  • 53 winners shared the third prize, receiving $1,686.20 each.
  • No one claimed the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra Prize in British Columbia or the $1 million Encore prize in Ontario.

The most recent Lotto 6/49 jackpot win came on Saturday, August 8, when a Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, ticket matched the Gold Ball numbers for the top prize. That same draw also produced a $5 million Classic Draw winner in British Columbia.

Next chance: The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Saturday, August 29, with the Gold Ball prize climbing to an estimated $20 million.
