South Carolina man wins Powerball jackpot worth $2 million

A lucky man from South Carolina won Powerball jackpot with the Power Play option worth $2 million in the Jan. 2 drawing. 

The winning ticket was sold at the Savers store on Highway 301 North in Dillon. The store will receive a bonus of $20,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

The winning numbers were: 7, 9, 12, 31, 62 and 22, which was Powerball. The winning ticket matched all but one of the numbers drawn.

“I still remember the number I missed,” he said. “I had “11” and it was “22.” 

Powerball is an American lottery game offered by 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. 

The next Powerball drawing is Monday night when the jackpot will be $45 million.

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:59 p.m.
