Someone in Arizona wake up to discover million dollar lottery win
Arizona has produced another lucky lottery winner with a $1 million prize. Although no one claimed the $940 million jackpot on Friday, a winning Mega Millions ticket was sold at a Circle K store in Prescott on Willow Creek Road.
The upcoming Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday is a staggering $1.05 billion, which makes it the seventh-largest lottery prize in the United States and the fourth-largest in Mega Millions history.
It has been a fortunate month for lottery players, as a ticket sold in downtown Los Angeles recently won the $1.08 billion Powerball jackpot. It has been quite some time since the last grand prize winner emerged in the Mega Millions game.
The last one was on April 18, when a 71-year-old man from New York won a record-breaking $476 million.
However, the winner, Johnnie Taylor of Howard Beach in Queens, opted for the cash payout of over $157 million after taxes. Since mid-April, there have been 29 drawings without a grand prize winner.
Typically, winners choose the cash option rather than receiving the full amount in installments over 29 years.
For the upcoming Tuesday drawing, the cash option stands at $422 million.
The winning numbers for the Mega Millions drawing held on July 28, 2023, were 5-10-28-52-63, Mega Ball: 18, and Megaplier: 5.
