Scotchman Store Sells Winning $40,000 Mega Millions Ticket in South Carolina
The South Carolina Education Lottery confirmed the sale of a winning ticket worth $40,000 at the Scotchman store located at 4101 Postal Way.
The fortunate ticket holder successfully matched four white ball numbers and the gold Megaball number, initially winning $10,000.
By opting for the Megaplier feature, their winnings quadrupled to a total of $40,000. Despite being just one number away from the jackpot, the player narrowly missed clinching the grand prize.
The drawn numbers for the win were 29, 35, 59, 61, and 69, with the Megaball being 22. The winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize.
Achieving the combination of four white ball numbers and the Megaball number holds odds of 1 in 931,001. As for the upcoming Friday draw, the Mega Millions jackpot stands at an estimated $267 million.
