Sarasota County woman became overnight millionaire while playing scratch lottery

For one Sarasota County woman, a $5 scratch-off ticket really paid off.

The Florida Lottery announced Nevine Ewadalla, 52, of Sarasota, claimed $1 million from the $5 "Monopoly Doubler" scratch-off game.

Ewadalla chose to receive her winnings as a lump-sum payment of $798,985, the site states, adding she bought the scratch-off from Cattleridge BP, 5991 Cattleridge Blvd., Sarasota.

The store gets something, too: It will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket, the Florida Lottery said. Below are things to know about the game.

If anybody has a winning ticket, the player must keep it safe and claim the winning prize by visiting the nearest lottery headquarters. The player can also have the facility of calling or sending mail to start the claiming process.
