San Diego Supermarket Sells $1 Million Winning Lottery Ticket

A man who purchased a Winter Riches Scratchers ticket at Vallarta Supermarkets in National City won $1 million in the California Lottery.

This is not the first time a Vallarta Supermarket has had a big win, as a store in Whittier sold a Scratchers ticket worth $5 million last year.

In total, five California Lottery Scratchers players won a combined $7 million in the state. The Director of Marketing for Vallarta Supermarkets noted that large jackpots often lead to increased foot traffic and sales of other products and services, making it a win-win situation for everyone.

The California Lottery is a state agency responsible for managing lottery games in California.

Established in 1984, the lottery has provided more than $38 billion in funding for education and other public programs. The California Lottery offers a variety of games, including Scratchers, Powerball, Mega Millions, Fantasy 5, and SuperLotto Plus.
