Rio Grande City woman won Texas Lottery game worth $100,000

A lucky woman from Rio Grande City won Texas Lottery's '$5 Nutcracker Cash' scratch-off ticket worth $100,000.

The winning ticket was sold at The Country Store 1, at 115 H and H Drive in Rio Grande City. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $1000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

This is the first time the store sold a scratch ticket with such a high prize amount, she said.

The Texas Lottery is the government-operated lottery available throughout Texas. It is operated by the Texas Lottery Commission, headquartered in downtown Austin, Texas.

Winning tickets must be claimed within 180 days or the prize is forfeited. As with most US lotteries, players must be at least 18 years of age.
