Quincy Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Prize, Plans to Pay Off Mortgage

A Quincy man is getting a major financial break after scoring a $1 million prize on a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket.

Daniel Reynolds won the prize after purchasing a $50 “$25,000,000 Mega Money” ticket. He claimed his winnings on Friday, August 21, choosing a $650,000 one-time payment before taxes instead of $50,000 annually for 20 years.

Reynolds said he plans to use the money to pay off his mortgage and travel.

Winning ticket bonus:

  • 200 Food Mart at 200 Sea St. in Quincy sold the lucky ticket and will receive a $10,000 bonus.

The “$25,000,000 Mega Money” game launched on May 13, 2025. Even after Reynolds’ big win, two $25 million grand prizes and three $2 million prizes remain in circulation.
