Ottawa County Woman Wins $300K on Michigan Lottery Ticket

A 26-year-old from Ottawa County just turned an ordinary morning into a life-changing one after hitting a $300,000 jackpot on the Michigan Lottery’s Safe Cracker Cashword instant game.

  • She usually plays different tickets, but when her go-to favorites were sold out, she decided to grab two Cashword tickets instead.

  • One was scratched before bed, but the real surprise came the next morning.

  • “I counted the words again and again—ten of them! I was shocked but tried to stay calm. Winning $300,000 still doesn’t feel real,” she said.

The winning ticket came from the Speedway on Baldwin Street in Jenison. As for her plans, she’s keeping it smart: paying off her car, investing, and tucking away the rest for the future.

Michigan has seen its fair share of jackpot moments lately. Back in June 2024, a group called the Breakfast Club lottery club walked away with a staggering $842 million Mega Millions prize. On the flip side, not every story has a happy ending—one $250,000 Powerball ticket sold in Bloomfield Hills in 2024 went unclaimed, and the money ended up in the state’s School Aid Fund.

Big wins like these prove that sometimes luck shows up when you least expect it.
