Orillia Paramedic Julia McWilliam Wins $26,108 in Soldiers' 50/50 Jackpot

In an unexpected turn of events, Julia McWilliam, a dedicated paramedic from Port Sydney, becomes the latest winner of the Soldiers' 50/50 jackpot, claiming an impressive prize of $26,108 for the month of May.

Expressing her shock at the news, McWilliam shares that she had only recently started playing the Soldiers' 50/50 lottery in April to show her support for the hospital. As a healthcare professional herself, she recognizes the importance of the funds raised and the impact they can make.

Working closely with Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH), McWilliam witnesses firsthand the exceptional care provided by the hospital staff. She plans to use her winnings to enjoy much-needed downtime on her days off as a first responder. Her initial plans include purchasing the ATV she had been saving for and upgrading her accommodations for a summer trip out west.

McWilliam also intends to pay it forward and support her community, emphasizing the significance of giving back to the place where she lives and works.

The Soldiers' 50/50 lottery provides a unique opportunity to contribute to urgent needs at the hospital. Those interested can purchase tickets for the June 50/50 Raffle, with two $1,000 early bird draws taking place on June 8 and June 22 at 11 a.m.

The grand prize draw will be held on June 29, featuring a guaranteed $5,000 pot. Ticket bundles start at an affordable $10.

The Soldiers' 50/50 raffle is managed by the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation and aims to generate essential funding for emerging needs within the hospital.
