Ohio Man Wins $10,000 Lottery Prize on His 18th Birthday

An Ohio man got a memorable start to adulthood after buying a lottery ticket just minutes after turning 18.

Austin, a Lewis Center resident, stopped at a gas station with a friend shortly after midnight on August 6, his 18th birthday. Since he was finally old enough to legally play, he bought a $20 $300 Million Diamond Dazzler scratch-off ticket as a joke.

That little birthday purchase turned into a $10,000 win.

His friend, who is a year older, couldn't believe it and joked, “This is not how adult life goes!”

Austin said he plans to put the prize money toward buying a new vehicle.
