North Carolina man wins $100,000 Powerball lottery ticket

North Carolina man wins $100,000 Powerball lottery ticket, the winner will soon be $100,000 times richer than before. 

Michael Buck who bought the $3 Quick Pick lottery ticket for the record $2.04 billion Powerball drawing, ended up getting the $100,000 prize.

He purchased the winning lottery ticket from the Walmart in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. 

Buck matched four white balls out of five and the Powerball to win $50,000, and it doubled to $100,000 because he also has the 2X Power Play multiplier. 

He decided to get his winnings as a one time lump sum and took home $71,017 after federal and state taxes.

He said he plans to use a large portion of the money to boost his retirement.
