A lucky Myrtle Beach player just hit it big, snagging a $1 million prize in the Million Dollar Mania game. The winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials he bought the ticket on a whim while grabbing coffee at the 7-Eleven on Sapwood Road.

“I’ve never won more than $100,” he admitted. “I’m still not sure I believe it—these things happen to someone else.” Lottery officials noted he’s been playing for decades, proving persistence can pay off.

Despite the huge win, he promised, “I’m not going to let it change me one bit.”

The odds of winning $1 million in this game are 1 in 1,530,000, and there’s still one more $1 million prize left up for grabs.
