Murrayville Woman Wins $10K as Georgia Lottery Payouts Hit Millions
Georgia Lottery Awards Big Wins Across the State
A Murrayville woman just made history as the first winner of Georgia Lottery's newest game. Pamela Pierce, 56, won $10,000 playing the Georgia Millionaire scratch-off. Pamela, a mortgage closer, bought the lucky ticket with her husband at a Thompson Bridge Road gas station. “I started crying,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it. I think I’m going to buy a car for myself—it’s going to be a nice down payment. I’m so excited!”
The Georgia Millionaire game offers instant cash prizes of $10,000, and non-winning tickets can be entered into a second-chance drawing on New Year’s Eve 2026, where three players will each win $1 million. Players can submit non-winning tickets online, with winners announced on the Georgia Lottery website.
Big wins aren’t just coming from new games. In the past week, Georgia scratch-offs have paid out a whopping $38.87 million. In Macon, a lucky player turned a $10 ticket from the $1,000,000 Triple Match scratcher into $1 million. Meanwhile, in Alpharetta, a resident scored $10,000 playing the Paranormal Payout diggi game.
All proceeds from Georgia Lottery tickets—scratch-offs, digital games, and more—support education across the Peach State.
Winners should note: instant ticket prizes must be claimed within 90 days of expiration, while online winning tickets expire after 180 days. Georgia takes 5.75% state tax and 24% federal tax on prizes over $5,000. The Lottery also reports winners above $600 to the IRS and state, and checks for outstanding child support, student loans, or state taxes on larger prizes.
Whether it’s instant scratch-off luck or a second-chance drawing, Georgia Lottery is turning dreams into real wins—and the next big story could be yours.
