Mount Vernon Resident Strikes Lottery Gold with $3 Million Jackpot
Andrea Garvey, a Mount Vernon resident, is celebrating a $3 million windfall after hitting the jackpot with the New York Lottery's Triple Jackpot 777 scratch-off game.
The winning lottery ticket was purchased at Memorial Stationery on 414 E. Sandford Blvd. in Mount Vernon.
Garvey opted for a one-time payment after withholdings and received $1,386,630.
Store manager Hatem Haddad proudly displays signs in the store, recalling the moment Garvey bought the ticket at the vending machine in late November.
Garvey's surprise and joy unfolded as the winning numbers aligned, making her a lottery millionaire.
