Mississippi Powerball Player Turns $1 Double Play Into $50,000 Win

A Mississippi Powerball player scored a $50,000 payday after a $1 Double Play add-on paid off big in the September 2, 2026, drawing.

The winning ticket was bought at the Walmart Superstore in Pascagoula, according to the Mississippi Lottery Corporation (MLC). The ticket matched four white balls plus the Powerball in the Double Play drawing, earning the $50,000 prize.

🎉 Another $50,000 Double Play Win

Double Play gives Powerball players an extra chance to win with the same numbers in a separate drawing held right after the regular Powerball drawing. The add-on costs just $1.

This marks the second recent Mississippi Double Play win at the $50,000 level. Last week, a ticket sold at Fast Lane State Street in Jackson also matched four white balls and the Powerball for a $50,000 prize.

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot for September 5 is estimated at $173 million, with a cash option of about $75 million.
