Milford resident won life changing million dollar lottery prize
Never has a traffic jam been so lucrative. Milford resident Bernard Fox scratched a lucky $1 million prize on a scratch ticket he bought while taking a break from a traffic jam, according to lottery officials.
Fox won the seven-figure prize on a “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” ticket — the state's newest scratcher, and the one boasting the highest single prize.
The billion-dollar game comes with a steep $50 price tag, but lottery officials say it has the highest payout percentage of any ticket at 82%.
Fox bought the ticket when he stopped recently at Express Mart located along High Plain Street in Walpole near the intersection of Route 1 and Route 27.
Fox will take home a $650,000 pre-tax lump sum.
The store will get a $10,000 bonus.
