Midlands Man Eyes Business Venture After Winning $300,000 in Scratch-Off Game
A resident from the Midlands region in South Carolina is looking to embark on a new business venture with the substantial $300,000 grand prize he won from a Black Diamond Dazzler scratch-off game.
Sharing his passion for cooking, the lucky winner expressed his desire to explore restaurant properties, possibly in Sumter, where he purchased the winning ticket for a mere $10. The winning ticket was bought at the Refuel gas station and convenience store located at 1018 Manning Road.
In awe of his good fortune, the winner described the experience as "unbelievable." Interestingly, South Carolina is among the 11 states in the U.S. that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous, granting the fortunate individual some privacy.
The odds of claiming the top prize in the Black Diamond Dazzler game were quite slim, standing at one in 840,000, according to lottery officials. What's more, two of the game's six top prize-winning tickets are still unclaimed, providing additional opportunities for players to strike it lucky.
For selling the winning ticket, Refuel received a commendable commission of $3,000, making it a win-win situation for both the store and the fortunate scratch-off game winner.
