Midlands man bought lottery ticket from extra cash and won $300k

Usually when we are left with extra cash after buying something we buy candies and mints, but this South Carolina man bought a lottery ticket with it.

The winner who chose to remain anonymous had some money left over after recently filling his gas tank and decided to buy S.C. lottery's Cash Bonanza game ticket which made him win $300,000.

The winning ticket was sold at the Anayar LLC, known locally as the One Stop, located at 1480 Five Chop Road in Orangeburg. The store will receive a bonus of $3,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

“It’s taken a big burden off me,” he said in the release.

The winner plans to invest the newfound windfall for his retirement and go on a vacation with the rest.

The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) began in 2002. South Carolina is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), best known for Powerball.

The odds of winning the top prize in the Cash Bonanza game are one-in-900,000, according to the release.

The minimum age to purchase SCEL tickets is 18.
