Massachusetts Lottery Player Wins $500,000 on $50 Scratch Ticket

A Massachusetts Lottery player hit a $500,000 top prize on a winning scratch ticket claimed Friday.

The lucky ticket came from the $500,000 Frenzy game, which costs $50 per ticket. The game started with 50 top prizes, and 15 have now been claimed, leaving 35 still available.

The winning ticket was sold at Family Farms in Leominster.

Massachusetts saw plenty of other big wins as well. At least 1,125 prizes worth $600 or more were won or claimed on Thursday. Among them were:

  • 49 prizes in Boston
  • 19 prizes in Springfield
  • 18 prizes in Worcester

The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a daily list of winning tickets valued at more than $600.

So far this year, the state's biggest claimed lottery prize has been a massive $29.71 million Megabucks win. That ticket was sold at King Mart in Holyoke.

For lottery players, the $500,000 Frenzy win is another reminder that some of the game's top prizes are still waiting to be claimed.
