Lucky Mistake: Ohio Woman Wins $58K After Buying Wrong Ticket

Sometimes, a “wrong” move turns out just right! Nancy from Auglaize County found herself thousands of dollars richer—all thanks to a slip of the finger at a self-serve kiosk.

While buying a Cash Explosion ticket at Wagner’s IGA in Minster, Nancy accidentally pressed the wrong button. What seemed like a small mistake turned into a major win when she ended up scoring a $7,500 prize and the Ticket Jackpot during the first round of the Cash Explosion game show.

But her luck didn’t stop there. During the show’s “Second Chance” Cash Challenge, Nancy’s name popped up three times, bringing her total to a whopping $50,000.

And because her luck was on fire, Nancy kept the momentum going with $1,000 worth of Win It All scratch-offs. She tried to save them for Thanksgiving—but the tickets “were burning a hole in her pocket.” One by one, she scratched through the stack and added another $785 to her winnings.

Now, Nancy and her husband are putting their windfall to good use—they’re planning to build the first-floor owner’s suite of their dreams right in their home.

A happy accident, a handful of lucky tickets, and a dream upgrade—now that’s what you call a winning streak!
