A lottery winner kept her cool despite discovering she'd won £10k a month during the record-breaking heatwave - by buying an air conditioning unit with her windfall. 

She will now receive £10,000 a month for the next year after her ticket on The National Lottery App matched the five main numbers in the Set For Life draw on August 1. 

Suzy, who is 44 years old, also plans to pay off the mortgage for the three-bedroom semi she shares with partner Ian and beloved Westie-Poo Flynn in Wakefield, West Yorks. 

"We were able to find a local store that had one in stock and could deliver. It came straight away, so we were able to stay cool.
