Group of Quebec coworkers wins $2 million Loto-Québec prize

Ten coworkers from Montérégie, Quebec, are overjoyed after winning a $2 million prize in a Loto-Québec draw.

The group, who work together at the Fondrémy foundry in Chambly, had only been playing the lottery together for a month when they hit the jackpot on February 25th.

They purchased the winning ticket at a Shell Voisin location in Sainte-Hélène-de-Bagot.

Each winner will receive an equal share of the winnings, totaling $200,000 per person.

Matthieu Côté, one of the lucky winners, was the first to check the ticket and share the good news with his colleagues.

He called each coworker individually, and their reactions ranged from tears of joy to disbelief.

The next day, the group met to see proof of their win, and the disbelief turned into pleasant shock.

The retailer will receive a commission of $20,000, which is 1% of the winnings.
