Fontana man claims nearly $4M Powerball prize after lucky feeling at local gas station

The California Lottery has reported that a man from Fontana has claimed a Powerball prize worth nearly $4 million.

Misael Cruz matched five numbers: 1, 4, 12, 36, and 49 but missed the Powerball number 5 that would have made him the winner of the more than $600 million jackpot from Jan. 30.

Cruz bought his ticket at the ARCO AM PM on Slover Avenue, where he is a regular lottery buyer.

Cruz said he had a lucky feeling that day and knew he was going to win. He explained that he is a person who helps others and never expects anything in return.

He plans to use his winnings to keep helping people, invest wisely, and continue shopping for the cheapest prices.

Cruz's son texted him shortly after the draw, saying that the winning ticket was purchased at his father's trusted store. Cruz checked the numbers three times and was in shock when he realized he had won.
