Florida Woman Strikes Gold with $5 Million Lottery Prize

Florida has another lottery success story as Janice Velez, a 60-year-old resident of Kissimmee, won big with a $5,000,000 CASHWORD Scratch-Off game ticket.

Velez claimed the top prize of $5 million and opted for a one-time lump-sum payment of $3,915,000. She purchased her winning ticket from RaceTrac, which will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratcher.

The $5,000,000 CASHWORD game features eight top prizes of $5 million, along with 24 prizes of $1 million and more.

Velez won the last top prize of the year, but there's still one $1 million prize up for grabs. With odds of 1 in 2.91, it's clear that Florida's lottery players are having quite a lucky streak.
