District Heights Man Wins $50,000 on Deluxe Crossword Scratch-Off

Warren Leonard of District Heights struck gold during a routine lunchtime visit to Old Silver Hill Convenience store last week. Purchasing four tickets, including two Deluxe Crossword 8th Edition games, he played them all in-store, discovering his $50,000 win.

Upon scanning the winning ticket, Warren was advised to see the retailer. Handing it to the cashier, he received the exciting news: “Congratulations, you won $50,000.” Still in disbelief, Warren headed home without sharing the news initially.

To confirm his Lottery luck, he visited a local 7-Eleven and scanned the $5 Deluxe Crossword ticket again, revealing another " $50,000 winner." Convinced, he finally shared the good news with his family.

When claiming the prize, Warren disclosed his plans for the windfall. He intends to pay off bills, allocate funds for the upcoming holidays, and provide financial assistance to family members as needed.

The Old Silver Hill Convenience store, located at 6106 Old Silver Hill Road in District Heights, earned a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize-winning scratch-off. Warren's win represents the second $50,000 top prize on the Deluxe Crossword 8th Edition game, which hit the shelves in September. The scratch-off still offers six more top prizes, 11 $10,000 prizes, and various rewards ranging from $5 to $1,000.
