Couple from Gilbert finally claims $473 Million Powerball Winnings

A married couple from Gilbert, who wishes to remain anonymous, finally came forward to claim the $473 million jackpot winnings.

According to officials, the couple took a cash lump sum payment which equated to about $283.3 million. The couple wishes to buy a new house for themselves and their kids and celebrate the big win with their family.

The winning ticket was sold on a convenience store in Gilbert. Officials say that the store where the ticket was purchased, QuikTrip, received a $50,000 bonus from the Arizona Lottery.

A 2019 Arizona law specifies that winners of Arizona Lottery prizes of $100,000 or more automatically remain anonymous for 90 days but can choose to remain anonymous permanently.
