Concord man wins N.C. Lottery’s 100X The Cash ticket worth $2M
A man from Concord more than 42,000 times his money plant North Carolina Education Lottery’s 100X The Cash game.
The winning $2 million ticket was sold at Little Buck Food Mart on S. Union Street in Concord. The store will receive a bonus of $20,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.
The winner recently claimed his winning amount from the lottery headquarters and chose to get a lump sum of $1.2 million, and after taxes, he took home a little over $855,000.
North Carolina has one of the United States' youngest lottery systems, having been enacted in 2005.
The revenue distributions are as follows: 51% was paid out in prizes, 38% was transferred into the education fund, 7% was paid to the retailers who sold lottery tickets, and 4% went to general lottery expenses.
